The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wishes to inform all 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates that they can now re-print their registration slips to access their examination dates and centres online.
Candidates can get the slip by logging in to their Jamb profile on the e-facility portal. Also the slip is being sent batch by batch to candidate’s registered email address.

JAMB introduces new measures to detect cheating in exams
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has come up with a new method of detecting malpractice in the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
JAMB registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, said yesterday that measures had been taken to detect malpractices nationwide.
He revealed that the anti-cheating measures would also be used to spot examinations officials involved in unprofessional conduct, no matter how highly placed.
Prof. Oloyede was speaking at a meeting with owners of computer-based test facilities in Abuja.

No more extension of UTME Registration
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will not extend the closing date for 2017/2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration again.
The exam body, who made the announcement on its official website on Thursday, said that sale of forms and registration would close on midnight of Saturday 5th May, 2017 as announced earlier.

Speaking on the mock exam, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, said took place as scheduled and was very successful.
The Registrar added that the mock examination was also part of the board’s determination to ensure a successful UTME this year and in the future.
He advised candidates who are yet to register to visit any of the approved Computer Based Test CBT centres nationwide on or before the closing date.

NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Application Form 2017 is Out
NLNG Scholarship Award for Undergraduate Students Now Open.
The Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) invites applications from interested first year undergraduates in Nigerian universities for its 2017 Under-Graduate Scholarship Award. The scheme seeks to promote academic excellence through the support of top-grade students through tertiary institutions.
This was founded as a critical component of education intervention programme for our host communities in 1998 and later opened up to the rest of Nigeria in 2003.
A total of 2,833 undergraduates from various universities in Nigeria have benefited from the scholarship scheme with a spend of over N600 million.
ELIGIBILITY/ CRITERIA FOR AWARD:
Prospective beneficiaries must:
• Have excellence /very good West Africa School Certificate (WASC) or National Examination Council (NECO) results at ONE sitting,
• Be top-scorer at the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination,
• Be a Full-Time Year-ONE student of any of the Nigerian Universities,
• Not be on any other Scholarship Award,
• Not be a spouse, child, ward or direct relation of staff of Nigeria LNG Limited.

NLNG Postgraduate Scholarship Award Application Ongoing.
The 2017 Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Postgraduate Scholarship application has commenced. Applications are now being accepted into the Nigeria LNG Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme for entry into Masters Programmes in the United Kingdom in September 2017.
The scheme seeks to grow a pool of high potential graduates and professional with competitive advantage.
AWARD CRITERIA:
Prospective beneficiaries must:
• Have a provisional admission from select UK institutions as in the e-Application online form to study any of the following disciplines:
– Engineering,
– Geosciences,
– Environmental Sciences,
– Management Sciences,
– Information Technology,
– Law and
– Medicine.
• Possess a minimum of second class [upper division] in a relevant field of study.
• Have completed NYSC programme.
• Not less than a 8.0 IELTS.
• Not be more than 30 years of age.
• Be Nigerian nationals resident in Nigeria.
• Provide identification document from their LGA.
• Possess an international passport valid for travel, at least, one year from September 2017.
• Be able to obtain UK Tier-4 students visa upon being successful.

2017 Worke'rs day
The Federal Government has declared Monday, 1st May, 2017 as public holiday to mark the 2017 Workers’ Day Celebration.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, on Friday, the minister, Abdulrahman Dambazzau, congratulated Nigerian workers for their resilience, hard work and commitment to the present administration despite current challenges.
He urged them to continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari.
Dambazau further urged Nigerian workers to re-dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and remain productive for the growth and development of the country.
The minister also wished all Nigerian workers a joyful and peaceful celebration on behalf of the President.
