UNIZIK Post-UTME Form 2017: Cut-off Mark, New Screening Date

Unizik Post-UTME Admission Screening Form 2017/2018 is Out.

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka invites candidates who made the University their first choice in the 2017 University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to apply for the 2017/2018 academic session post Utme admission screening exercise.
This is to announce that the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has shifted the date for the post utme.
Registration is expected to continue beyond the closing. New date for the screening test will be communicated later.

Eligibility:

a. Candidates who made Nnamdi Azikiwe University their first choice and have the required cut-off mark are eligible to apply.
b. The general cut-off mark is 200 except for Faculties/ Departments indicated below:
Faculties/ Programmes with Cut-Off Mark of 180
(a) Agriculture – AgricEcons& Extension, Animal Science, Forestry & Wildlife, Food Science & Technology, Soil Science, Crop Science.

ASUU Suspends Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a conditional suspension of it five weeks nationwide industrial action till end of October for government to fulfill its pledges.
The decision to suspend the ASUU strike comes following a reconciliation meeting with a Federal Government team which held today (Monday) in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. he union directs all universities to resume tomorrow.
The talks with the Federal Government team came after about two weeks following the union’s consultations with its various chapters on the terms of agreement earlier reached by both parties.Speaking after a meeting with the Federal Government Negotiation Team, the National President of ASUU, Prof. Abiodun Ogunyemi said in event the government in her characteristic mature failed to implement the agreement, the union will not hesitate to take appropriate action, adding that all the items on the list have a time line.

Agip scholarship application for first year students has commenced. The Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited (NAOC) Joint Venture in pursuance of its Corporate Social Responsibility invites suitably qualified applicants for its 2016/2017 Session Tertiary Scholarship Scheme.

Category of Awards:A) Host Communities Merit Award – For applicants strictly from NAOC Host Communities.
B) National Merit Award – For applicants from Non-Host communities.

Eligibility / Requirements:

To qualify for consideration, applicants MUST be:
  • Registered Full TIME undergraduates in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions
  • Certified 100 level students at the time of application.
  • NOTE: The following categories of students should not apply:
    – 200 level students and above.
    – Current beneficiaries of similar Awards from other Companies and Agencies.
    – Dependants of NAOC/NAE/AENR.
  • Only Indigenes of NAOC Host Communities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Imo States SHOULD apply for the Host Communities Merit Award.
  • Only applicants studying Engineering, Geology, Geosciences and Agricultural Science are eligible for the National Merit Award.

MTN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION 2017 COMMENCES

MTN Scholarship Award 2017 Application Information Released.

Applications for the MTN Foundation Scholarship 2017 has commenced. The MTN Foundation Science & Technology Scholarship scheme seeks to attract high performing full time second year students studying in public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics and colleges of education) in Nigeria.The scholarship provides financial assistance to students who might otherwise be unable to pay for their tertiary education and aims to recognize and reward academic excellence.

Eligibility and Conditions:

1. Applicants from public Universities and Colleges of Education in Nigeria must be full time undergraduates in 200 level/2nd year.
2. Applicants from public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.5 or its equivalent (2:1).
3. Applicants from public Polytechnics must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) programme and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma programme (HND).
